Ukraine planted over 2.55 mln ha of early spring grains and legume crops
As of April 22, 2014 agrarian of Ukraine had already planted the early spring grain and legume crops throughout the areas of 2.55 mln ha, or 97% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the data of the Ministry, as of the same date of 2013 the stated rate totaled 2.52 mln ha.
As of the reported date, in Ukraine the spring wheat planted areas totaled 157 thsd ha (100%), barley – 1.94 mln ha (96%), oats – 249 thsd ha (98%), peas – 189 thsd ha (98%).
At the same time, the sunflower planted areas reached 1.71 mln ha (40%), maize – 801 thsd ha (61%), soybean – 103 thsd ha (6%).
