Russia harvested 5 mln tonnes of grains

According to operative data as of July 2, several regions of the Southern, North Caucasian and Crimean Federal Districts of Russia harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 1.3 mln ha, or 2.8% of the planned areas (in 2013 – 2.7 mln ha), and produced 5 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight (in 2013 – 9.6 mln tonnes). The average yield totaled 3.78 t/ha (in 2013 – 3.5 t/ha), reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 586 thsd ha, or 2.3% of the planned areas (in 2013 – 2.1 mln ha). The produced volumes totaled 2.3 mln tonnes (in 2013 – 7.5 mln tonnes), with the yield of 3.88 t/ha (in 2013 – 3.52 t/ha).

Agrarians harvested winter and spring barley throughout 370.8 thsd ha, or 4% of the areas (in 2013 – 469.6 thsd ha), and produced 1.5 mln tonnes of the grain (in 2013 – 1.7 mln tonnes), with the yield of 4.04 t/ha (in 2013 – 3.61 t/ha).

Also, Krasnodar and Stavropol Krais, the Republics of Adygea and Crimea started harvesting winter rapeseed. As of the reporting date, agrarians harvested the oilseed throughout 77.9 thsd ha, or 6.3% of the planned areas (in 2013 – 118.4 thsd ha). The produced oilseed volumes reached 133.6 thsd tonnes (in 2013 – 203.6 thsd tonnes), with the average yield of 1.72 t/ha (in 2013 - 1.72 t/ha).
