The Crimea is close to almost complete satisfaction of its domestic needs in grains, declared Vladimir Pashtetsky, Director of the Crimean State University of Agriculture, on July 26.
According to him, annually the peninsula needs to produce nearly 1.5-2 mln tonnes of grains, to ensure the Republic with grain volumes.
V.Pashtetsky forecasted that in the current year the region will produce 1.2 mln tonnes, despite the existing problems with water supply.
