As of August 4, Russia harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 15.7 mln ha, or 33.6% of the planned harvested areas (in 2013 – 14.5 mln ha). The produced volumes reached 52.3 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight (in 2013 - 40.2 mln tonnes), with the yield of 3.34 t/ha (in 2013 – 2.77 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, agrarians harvested winter and spring wheat throughout 11.1 mln ha, or 44% of the harvested areas (in 2013 - 10.2 mln ha). The produced volumes totaled 40.2 mln tonnes (in 2013 - 31.1 mln tonnes) with the average yield of 3.61 t/ha (in 2013 – 3.04 t/ha).
Russia harvested winter and spring barley throughout 2.3 mln ha, or 24.4% of the planned areas (in 2013 - 2.2 mln ha). The produced volumes reached 6.6 mln tonnes (in 2013 - 5.1 mln tonnes) with the average yield of 2.93 t/ha (in 2013 – 2.28 t/ha).
In addition, agrarians harvested winter rapeseed throughout 243.9 thsd ha, or 19.7% of the harvested areas (in 2013 - 198.1 thsd ha). The production totaled 418.8 thsd tonnes (in 2013 - 347.2 thsd tonnes) with the yield of 1.72 t/ha (in 2013 – 1.75 t/ha).
