Kazakhstan: forecasts of wheat and barley yield indices increased - experts

In its July report the European Commission's service Monitoring Agricultural ResourceS (MARS) forecasted the yield indices of winter wheat in Kazakhstan at 1.82 t/ha, an increase of 11% compared with the previous forecast in June 2017, but down 15% compared with the average yield figures for 5 recent years.

The forecast of spring wheat yield increased by 18% compared with the figures in June forecast, to 1.23 t/ha, and also up 5% compared with the average yield figures for 5 recent years.

The forecast of winter wheat yield increased by 6.2% compared with the figures in June 2017, to 2.27 t/ha, and up 4.4% compared with the average yield figures for 5 recent years.

Also, the forecast of spring barley yield grew by 17% compared with the figures in June forecast, to 1.54 t/ha, but down 9.3% compared with the average yield figures for 5 recent years.
