In Kazakhstan, the share of 3-grade grain totaled 76% of the new crop structure, as opposed to 44% last year, and the share of grains with 25% gluten content and above - 47%, against 9% last year, declared the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairat Aituganov.

According to him, in 2017 the qualitative characteristics of grains improved due to the public support of seed breeding and application of mineral fertilizers.

As of September 12, Kazakh agrarians harvested 14.7 mln tonnes of grains, up 2.4 mln tonnes compared with the last year figures, or up 16%. The harvested areas reached 11.6 mln ha (76.7% of the plan). In particular, South Kazakhstan, Jambyl and West Kazakhstan oblasts already completed the harvesting campaign of grains.

Agrarians almost completed harvesting barley. To date, Kazakhstan harvested 2.7 mln tonnes of grain throughout 1.8 mln ha, or 86% of the plan. Also, agrarians already harvested oilseeds throughout 24% of the planned areas, up 10% compared with the last year level. The production volumes reached 1.2 mln tonnes, said the First Vice-Minister of Agriculture.
