In 2017, Russia can harvest nearly 130 mln tonnes of grains, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on October 4.

According to him, in the current year Russia will produce a record harvest of grain crops, which will exceed the previous maximum level achieved in 1978 - 127 mln tonnes of grains. At the same time, he noted that in 1978 agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 78 mln ha, but in 2017 the figures reached 47 mln ha only. Therefore, in terms of reaching of the same planted areas, Russia will manage to get another 100 mln tonnes of grains per year, summed up A.Tkachev.

At the same time, the Minister reminded that there are some countries which produce much higher volumes of grains. Of course, Russia demonstrates good results in grain production, but not the first ones.
