Ukraine planted spring grains and pulses throughout 6.2 mln ha — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of May 11, Ukrainian agrarians planted early spring grains throughout the areas of 2.2 mln ha, or 93% of the forecast, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, the planted areas under spring wheat totaled 163 thsd ha (93% of the forecast), spring barley — 1.5 mln ha (92%), oats — 185 thsd ha (91%), and peas — 412 thsd ha (97%).

Generally, agrarians already planted spring grains and pulses (including corn) throughout 6.2 mln ha (84%) from the forecast of 7.4 mln ha, reported the Ministry.

So, the planted areas under corn for grain totaled 3.8 mln ha (83%), buckwheat — 38 thsd ha (25%), and millet — 20 thsd ha (36%). In addition, the areas under sunflower seed totaled 4.9 mln ha (88%), soybeans — 1.2 mln ha (61%), and sugar beet — 275 thsd ha (92%).
