As of May 14, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses (including corn) throughout the areas of 6.4 mln ha, or 87% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

According to the announcement, the planted areas under early spring grains totaled 2.2 mln ha (94% of the forecast), including spring wheat — 164 thsd ha (94%), spring barley — 1.5 mln ha (93%), oats — 185 thsd ha (90%), and peas — 414 thsd ha (98%). In addition, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout nearly 4 mln ha (87%), buckwheat — 47 thsd ha (31%), and millet — 23 thsd ha (42%).

Also, Ukrainian agrarians continued planting technical crops. Thus, the planted areas under sugar beet reached 276 thsd ha (92%), sunflower seed — 5 mln ha (91%), and soybeans — 1.3 mln ha (68%).
