As of May 21, Ukrainian agrarians planted spring grains and pulses (including corn) throughout the areas of 6.9 mln ha, or 93% of the plan, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, the planted areas under early spring grains totaled 2.3 mln ha (96% of the forecast), including spring wheat — 166 thsd ha (95%), spring barley — 1.5 mln ha (96%), oats — 189 thsd ha (92%), and peas — 416 thsd ha (99%). In addition, agrarians planted corn for grain throughout 4.4 mln ha (95%), buckwheat — 69 thsd ha (46%), and millet — 32 thsd ha (57%).

Also, Ukrainian agrarians continued planting technical crops. Thus, the planted areas under sugar beet reached 280 thsd ha (94%), sunflower seed — 5.4 mln ha (98%), and soybeans — 1.6 mln ha (81%).
