Ukraine harvested over 68 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of November 29, Ukrainian agrarians already harvested 68.5 mln tonnes of grains throughout the areas of 14.52 mln ha (98% of the plan). The average yield totaled 4.72 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, agrarians still continued harvesting corn for grain. The harvested areas reached 4.34 mln ha (95%), the volumes — 33.35 mln tonnes, and the yield — 7.69 t/ha. Agrarian almost completed the harvesting campaign of buckwheat and millet, which areas reached 108 thsd ha (99%) and 51 thsd ha (98%), respectively. The harvest volumes of buckwheat totaled 136 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.26 t/ha; and millet — 78 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.54 t/ha.

At the same time, Ukrainian agrarians continued harvesting oilseed crops. Ukraine harvested 13.77 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout 6.05 mln ha (99.8%), with the average yield of 2.28 t/ha; and soybeans — 4.36 mln tonnes throughout 1.69 mln ha (99%), with the yield of 2.58 t/ha.

Also, agrarians harvested 13.47 mln tonnes of sugar beet throughout 273 thsd ha (98%), with the yield of 49.4 t/ha.

In addition, Ukraine almost completed the planting campaign of winter grains for the harvest-2019 — 7.09 mln ha (98%).
