Kazakhstan to plant agricultural crops throughout more than 22 mln ha for the harvest-2019

According to preliminary figures, in 2019 Kazakhstan plans to plant agricultural crops throughout the areas of 22.3 mln ha, an increase of 290.7 thsd ha compared with 2018, declared the Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeyev on February 5. 

In particular, the planted areas under such highly-demanded crops as barley and corn for grain will increase by 57.2 thsd ha, sugar beet — up 2.6 thsd ha, and the areas of forage crops — up 654.1 thsd ha.

Also, by 2021 it is planned to increase the irrigated land areas by 610 thsd ha. So, in 2018 Kazakhstan increased the areas by 65 thsd ha, and in 2019 the areas will grow by 124 thsd ha. Generally, in the following 9-10 years the industry will raise 1.23 trln KZT of investments, and the irrigated lands will grow to 3.5 mln ha, which will increase the production volumes of agricultural crops from the areas to 3.7 trln KZT.
