As of March 25, Russia planted spring crops throughout the general areas of 682.5 thsd ha, or 1.3% of the forecast (on the same date in 2018 — 175.7 thsd ha), reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on March 26.

At the same time, agrarians planted spring grains throughout 532.5 thsd ha, or 1.8% of the forecasted areas (in 2018 — 175.7 thsd ha). In particular, spring barley areas reached 177.3 thsd ha, or 2.3% of the forecast, and spring wheat — 3.7 thsd ha.

To date, the Southern Federal District planted spring crops throughout 446.8 thsd ha (7.4% of the forecast), as well as the North Caucasian District — 235.5 thsd ha (12.4% of the plan). Also, agrarians of Kursk oblast started planting crops, and as of March 25 the areas already reached 0.2 thsd ha.

Also, the Chechen Republic started planting spring rapeseed, which areas reached 730 ha. In addition, Krasnodar Krai and the Chechen Republic started planting sugar beet, which areas already total 4.5 thsd ha (0.4% of the plan).

At the same time, agrarians provided additional fertilizing of winter crops throughout 5.7 mln ha, or 32.1% of the planted areas (in 2018 — 2.9 mln ha).
