In 2018, the general planted areas under agricultural crops in Kyrgyzstan increased by 3.9 thsd ha compared with the previous year, and totaled 1.215 mln ha, declared the Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zamirbek Askarov, on April 8.
According to him, last year the production rates in agriculture increased by 2.7%. The trend developed, due to the increase in the production of crops (up 3.4%), as well as animal products (up 2.2%).
As of January 1, the general areas of drop irrigation systems in the country totaled almost 2.35 thsd ha. Last year, agrarians brought under cultivation 634 ha of irrigated lands, and the moisture provision level increased by 1.9 ha, Z.Askarov added.
