As of June 13, Russia planted all spring crops throughout the general areas of 50 mln ha, or 95.6% of the forecast (on the same date in 2018 — 48 mln ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, agrarians planted spring grains throughout 28.8 mln ha, or 97.5% of the forecasted areas (in 2018 — 28 mln ha). In particular, the planted areas under spring barley reached 7.9 mln ha (101.3%), spring wheat — 11.9 mln ha (98%), corn for grain — 2.6 mln ha (101.2%), and rice — 185.1 thsd ha (96.3%).
In addition, Russia planted sunflower seed throughout 8.1 mln ha (104.5%), spring rapeseed — 1.4 mln ha (95.6%), and soybeans — 2.7 mln ha (89.8%).
