Belarus harvested over 5.6 mln tonnes of grains and pulses — Ministry of Agriculture

As of August 14, Belarusian agrarians harvested grains and pulses (without corn) throughout the areas of 1.785 mln ha, or 83.5% of the planned figures (2.138 mln ha). The production volumes reached 5.68 mln tonnes of grains, with the average yield at 3.19 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.

In particular, as of the reporting date Minsk oblast harvested the largest volumes of grains in the country — 1.465 mln tonnes, followed by Brest oblast — 1.19 mln tonnes, and Grodno oblast — 1.15 mln tonnes. In addition, Mogilev oblast harvested 654.2 thsd tonnes of grains, Vitebsk oblast — 636.6 thsd tonnes, and Gomel oblast — 590.4 thsd tonnes.

Also, the country continued harvesting malting barley. Agrarians harvested the grain throughout 34.9 thsd ha, or 72.5% of the plan (48.1 thsd ha). The production volumes totaled 116.6 thsd tonnes, while the yield — 3.34 t/ha.
