Russia harvested over 67 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agriculture

As of August 15, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 20.7 mln ha, or 44.2% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 67.8 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 67.6 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 3.28 t/ha (in 2018 — 3.16 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

In particular, agrarians harvested 53.1 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 14.9 mln ha (53.1%), with the yield of 3.56 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 10.5 mln tonnes of barley throughout 3.5 mln ha (39.5%), with the yield of 3.03 t/ha.

Agrarians still continued harvesting winter rapeseed, and as of August 15 the areas reached 203.2 thsd ha (13%). The production volumes reached 481.2 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 2.37 t/ha.

In addition, Krasnodar Krai harvested soybeans throughout 10.8 thsd ha, and produced 14.2 thsd tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 1.31 t/ha.

In addition, Russian agrarians harvesting sugar beet — 1.2 mln tonnes throughout 26.9 thsd ha (2.4%), with the yield of 44.1 t/ha.

Some raions of the Central, Northwestern, Volga, Ural and Siberian Federal Districts started planting winter crops for the harvest-2020. The planted areas reached 100.3 thsd ha, or 0.6% of the forecast, added the officials.
