As of August 21, Belarusian agrarians harvested grains and pulses (without corn) throughout the areas of 1.96 mln ha, or 91.9% of the planned figures (2.131 mln ha). The production volumes reached 6.154 mln tonnes of grains, with the average yield at 3.14 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus.
In particular, as of the reporting date Minsk oblast harvested the largest volumes of grains in the country — 1.619 mln tonnes, followed by Brest oblast — 1.196 mln tonnes, and Grodno oblast — 1.174 mln tonnes. In addition, Vitebsk oblast harvested 800.6 thsd tonnes of grains, Mogilev oblast — 718.5 thsd tonnes, and Gomel oblast — 645.3 thsd tonnes.
At the same time, most oblasts still have to harvest grains throughout 3-8% of the remaining areas. It is with the exception of Vitebsk oblast, where agrarians harvested grains throughout 75.1% of the planned areas only, and Brest oblast, which almost completed the harvesting campaign (99.3%).
Also, the country continued harvesting malting barley. Agrarians harvested the grain throughout 38.2 thsd ha, or 79.5% of the plan (48.1 thsd ha). The production volumes totaled 123.3 thsd tonnes, while the yield — 3.23 t/ha.
