As of September 16, Russian agrarians harvested grains and pulses throughout the areas of 35.7 mln ha (in 2018 — 32.3 mln ha), or 76.3% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 99.6 mln tonnes of grains (in 2018 — 88.2 mln tonnes), with the average yield of 2.79 t/ha (in 2018 — 2.73 t/ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on September 17.
In particular, agrarians harvested 68.6 mln tonnes of wheat throughout 22.5 mln ha (80.2%), with the yield of 3.05 t/ha. Also, Russia harvested 19.7 mln tonnes of barley throughout 7.7 mln ha (87.1%), with the yield of 2.57 t/ha.
Russian agrarians harvested corn for grain throughout 388 thsd ha, or 15% of the forecast. The production volumes totaled 1.9 mln tonnes, with the yield of 4.82 t/ha. Agrarians started harvesting rice, and produced 317.7 thsd tonnes of the grain. The harvested areas reached 47.9 thsd ha (24.7%), with the yield at 6.63 t/ha.
At the same time, agrarians already harvested sunflower seed throughout 1.4 mln ha (16.3%), and produced 3.2 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the average yield at 2.31 t/ha.
Agrarians continued harvesting rapeseed, and as of September 12 the areas reached 596.4 thsd ha (38.2%). The production volumes reached 1.1 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.83 t/ha.
In addition, Russia harvested soybeans throughout 903.2 thsd ha (29.7%), and produced 1.8 mln tonnes of the oilseed, with the yield of 2.02 t/ha.
As of the reporting date, Russia already planted winter crops for the harvest-2020 throughout 9.5 mln ha, or 54.1% of the forecast (in 2018 — 8.4 mln ha).
