Ukraine harvested over 41 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of September 18, all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 41.6 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 10.5 mln ha, or 69% of the forecast, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, the production of early grain crops and pulses in the country reached 39.3 mln tonnes, and the harvested areas — 9.97 mln ha (99.9%). In addition, agrarians harvested 2 mln tonnes of corn throughout 338 thsd ha (7%), 49 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 36 thsd ha (54%), and 128 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 68 thsd ha (76%).

Also, agrarians harvested 5.8 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 3 mln ha (52%), with the yield of 2.23 t/ha. At the same time, the production of soybeans reached 1.4 mln tonnes, with the yield of 2.29 t/ha, and the areas of 593 thsd ha (38%).

As of the reporting date, 10 oblasts of Ukraine started harvesting sugar beet, which areas already totaled 12 thsd ha or 6% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 558 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 45.77 t/ha.

In addition, as of the reporting date Ukraine planted winter grains throughout the areas of 1.3 mln ha, or 17% of the forecast. In particular, the areas under winter wheat totaled 1.2 mln ha (19% of the forecast), winter rye — 41 thsd ha (34%), and winter barley — 46 thsd ha (5%).
