In 2018/19 MY, Russia realized its corn export potential at 97% — APK-Inform

For the first 11 months of 2018/19 MY (October-August), Russia exported 2.6 mln tonnes of corn, which formed 97% only of the grain shipment volumes forecasted by APK-Inform analysts for the whole season (2.7 mln tonnes).

At the same time, APK-Inform experts noted that the shipment volumes decreased by 50% compared with the figures of October-August of 2017/18 MY.

In the season-2018/19, Iran, Turkey and Japan were the largest countries-importers of Russian corn, which accumulated share reached nearly 81% in the general structure of shipments.

APK-Inform Agency remained the forecast of corn exports from Russia in 2019/20 MY unchanged, compared with the estimations made last month — 4.5 mln tonnes. At the same time, the forecast can get updated after ending of the mass harvesting campaign of the grain.
