The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation lowered its forecast of grain production from 123 mln tonnes to 120 mln tonnes in 2020 due to adverse weather in many regions of Russia during winter and spring, declared the Minister of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev on May 20.
“The unfavorable weather during winter and spring aggravated the condition of winter crops in the number of regions. Thus, we expect the yield to decline by up to 30% in Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories as well as in Rostov oblast”, - the Minister said.
He added that the average condition of agricultural crops in Russia in 2020 matches the last year level.
“We expect the production of grain crops will reach about 120 mln tonnes in 2020. The production of oilseeds could be up to 22.5 mln tonnes. All these figures correspond to the last year results”, - D.Patrushev explained.
