Taking to account the official data on planted areas under crops and real-time data on yield of harvested grains, in July, APK-Inform revised up its forecast of the overall grain production to 73 mln tonnes in Ukraine, down 3% compared to 2019/20 MY (75.1 mln tonnes).
Particularly, wheat crop will reach 25.2 mln tonnes, down 11% compared to 2019/20 MY (28.3 mln tonnes), barley – 8.5 mln tonnes (down 5%), corn – 37.3 mln tonnes (up 4%).
“Export forecast was raised as well on better production expectations. Wheat export could reach 17.3 mln tonnes in 2020/21 MY, barley – 4.4 mln tonnes (+25.7% to June forecast), corn – 29.4 mln tonnes (+1.4%). Thus, the overall shipments of grains and pulses could total 51.8 mln tonnes, down 6.2% compared to 2019/20 MY”, - the analyst of APK-Inform, Viktoria Rozhko said.
