As of April 29, Ukraine planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 2.922 mln ha or 39% of the forecast, declared the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.
In particular, farmers planted spring wheat throughout 168.2 thsd ha (95%), spring barley throughout 1.28 mln ha (92%).
The areas under oats reached 182.8 thsd ha (84%), peas - 220 thsd ha (93%).
Moreover, Ukrainian farmers planted corn for grain throughout 1.07 mln ha (20.1%), millet - 1.7 thsd ha (1.4%), buckwheat - 0.9 thsd ha (1.2%).
Farmers planted sunflower seed throughout 2.15 mln ha (33.6%), soybeans - 84.9 thsd ha (6%).
Additionally, farmers planted sugar beet throughout 192.7 thsd ha (84.9%).
Agrarians of Kherson, Odessa, Donetsk, Cherkasy, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Rivne, Volyn, Zakarpatska and Khmelnytskyi oblasts have already completed planting of early grains and pulses.
