As of March 2, Ukraine harvested grains and pulses through 11.3 mln ha, which is 98% of the planned area, and the production reached 54.28 mln tonnes with the average yield at 4.8 t/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine reported.
In particular, harvesting of corn continues: as of March 2 field works were conducted through 4.02 mln ha (95%) and production amounted to 26.9 mln tonnes with the yield at 6.69 t/ha (26.79 mln tonnes last week).
We should also note that together with the continuation of the harvesting of the old crop in Ukraine, the new crop spring planting campaign has already begun. According to operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of March 2, 3.5 thsd ha of grain and pulses crops (1.5 thsd ha of barley and 2 thsd ha of peas) were planted in Odesa region.
