Rosstat published the final results of grain production in Russia in 2022

In 2022, Russia’s production of grain increased by 29.9% year-on-year – to 157.626 mln tonnes, including wheat – up by 36% to 104.237 mln tonnes, according to the latest data by Rosstat, reported on March 13 by Prime. 

The production of grain in 2022 is still higher compared to the record harvest in 2017 (135.539 mln tonnes, including 86.003 mln tonnes of wheat).   

Also, Rosstat made an upward revision of barley production – by 30% to 23.39 mln tonnes, corn (for grain) – by 4% to 15.85 mln tonnes, and rye – by 26.5% to 2.179 mln tonnes. 

The production of oats increased by 20% to 4.531 mln tonnes, buckwheat – by 33% to 1.222 mln tonnes, and pulses – by 18.8% (4.561 thsd tonnes). The production of rice declined by 14.2% (923 thsd tonnes), and millet by 16.5% (307 thsd tonnes).

The average yield of grains and pulses in Russia increased by 25.9% y-o-y to 3.36 t/ha in 2022.
