The Russian "daughter" of the American corporation Cargill will stop exporting grain from Russia in 2023/24 MR. On March 28, the company informed Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut about its plans (the document is at the disposal of РБК, its authenticity was confirmed by a source close to the ministry).

In the letter, the company reports that Cargill LLC does not plan to export grain from Russia in the 2023/24 season "in accordance with the previous discussion of grain export issues and the recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture." At the same time, the company promised that the shipments planned for the current season will be carried out "in full in accordance with the existing quota."

In addition, the Russian "daughter" of Cargill reported that it is beginning to review the portfolio of assets it owns related to the export of grain. But changes regarding "any other activities and assets of Cargill in Russia are not planned or considered."

The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation confirmed that they received a message from Cargill. The Russian representative office of the company has not yet officially commented on this information.

It should be noted that Cargill is one of the major exporters of Russian grain. According to the participants of the Russian grain market, in the current season, the company plans to export about 2.2 mln tonnes, or about 4% of the total volume of Russian grain shipments. In terms of shipments, Cargill ranks sixth among exporters of these products from the Russian Federation.
