In 2020, the general harvest of grain crops in Ukraine will fall to 65 mln tonnes, as opposed to the record level of 75 mln tonnes in 2019, reported the Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, Taras Vysotskyi, on March 4.

In terms of the warm winter, most crops were in good and satisfactory condition, and agrarians will probably replant crops throughout nearly 800 thsd ha of the planted areas, including 700 thsd ha under wheat, he said.

In particular, the harvest of wheat in Ukraine will reduce to nearly 23 mln tonnes, due to reduction of the planted areas under the grain.

T.Vysotskyi added that since the beginning of the season-2019/20 the exports of Ukrainian grains already exceeded 40 mln tonnes, and by the end of the marketing year the figures can reach a new record — 52-55 mln tonnes.

At the same time, next season the general grain supplies from Ukraine will reduce to 40-45 mln tonnes.
