The Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) revised down its forecast of grain and oilseed crop to 87.5 mln tonnes in Ukraine in 2020/21 MY compared to previously expected 95.6 mln tonnes, declared the press-service of the UGA on October 12.

The downward revision was based on unfavorable weather.

Particularly, the Association lowered corn crop forecast by 2.8 mln tonnes to 32.5 mln tonnes. Nevertheless, the experts describe the current figure as “rather high”.

The UGA lowered its forecast of sunflower seed production by 3.2 mln tonnes to 12.9 mln tonnes due to lower yield of the crop that was set at 2 t/ha compared to 2.5 t/ha expected in September.

The UGA revised down the estimations of wheat crop by 1.3 mln tonnes to 25.3 mln tonnes and barley - down by 0.3 mln tonnes to 8 mln tonnes.

The Association set the forecast of grains and oilseeds export at 53.9 mln tonnes (down by 2.4 mln tonnes). Wheat export forecast was remained at 17.5 mln tonnes.
