The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia forecasts the country to harvest more than 127.5 mln tonnes of grains in net weight this year. It was stated in the press release of the Ministry on December 7.
The Ministry said that the harvesting campaign was nearly completed in Russia. As of December 1, the country harvested 137.8 mln tonnes of grains in bunker weight.
“Wheat crop will reach 82 mln tonnes. The production of grains and wheat will be the second largest on record after 2017”, - was stated in the message.
The Ministry said that the winter planting campaign was carried out as usual. However, conditions were unfavorable for winter grain crops in some regions.
“Despite the record planted area (19.3 mln ha), farmers of Southern and Central FDs planted their crops in dry soil that affected the vegetation. The Ministry is monitoring the conditions of crops. The final estimation will be provided after renewal of vegetation in the spring”, - was stated in the message.
