According to the preliminary estimation, Russia harvested 132.9 mln tonnes of grain (in weight after processing) in 2020, up 9.7% compared to 2019 (121.2 mln tonnes), informed Rosstat.
At the same time, production of sunflower seed declined by 13.7% to 13.3 mln tonnes, sugar beet by 40.5% to 32.4 mln tonnes.
“As usually, agricultural organizations produced the main share of grain (69.8%), sugar beet (92.3%) and sunflower seed (64.8%). Farmers households produced 29.6% of grain, 34.9% of sunflower seed and 7.9% of sugar beet”, -is stated in the message.
Rosstat informed that Russian agricultural organizations planted 12.4 mln ha with winter grains as of December 1, up 2.2% compared to the year ago.
