As of May 6, Ukraine planted spring grains and pulses throughout the areas of 4.37 mln ha or 58% of the forecast, declared the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.
In particular, farmers planted spring wheat throughout 172.2 thsd ha (98%), spring barley throughout 1.3 mln ha (95%).
The areas under oats reached 185.4 thsd ha (96%), peas - 226.4 thsd ha (96%).
Moreover, Ukrainian farmers planted corn for grain throughout 2.4 mln ha (46%), buckwheat - 19 thsd ha (24%).
Farmers planted sunflower seed throughout 3.2 mln ha (50%), soybeans - 254.8 thsd ha (8%).
Additionally, farmers planted sugar beet throughout 223 thsd ha (98%).
Agrarians of 14 oblasts have already completed planting of early grains and pulses.
