Farmers of Kazakhstan have planted 16.7 mln ha with spring crops or 88.5% of the plan (22.8 mln ha). The current pace of the field works exceeds the last year figure by1.5 mln ha, declared the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Aydarbek Saparov.
“Farmers have planted grains and pulses throughout 13.1 mln ha (87.2% of the plan), oilseeds - 2.7 mln ha (93.6%), other crops - 1 mln ha (92%)”, - he said.
He pointed out that the planting campaign is progressing under normal conditions.
The Deputy Minister added that the key producing regions started the plating campaign in mid-May. The farmers of Aktobe, Jambyl and Mangystau oblasts have already completed the field works. The planting campaign is approaching its end in Almaty, Kyzylorda and Turkistan oblasts.
