Farmers of Odessa oblast are reporting winter barley yield at 2.1 t/ha that is almost 2 times lower compared to 2021, local TV channel reports.

The farmers say that no moisture and no access to nitrogen fertilizers sharply cut production potential this year.

Local farm administration says that to prepare storing facilities is the main task for now, as the grain cannot be exported fast due to blockage of seaports.

As of today, farmers of Odessa oblast have harvested winter wheat and barley throughout 50 thsd ha. They plan to reap 3.7 mln tonnes of grain, or 70% of the last year’s volume.
