On November 1, in Beijing the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) signed 5 protocols, which regulate the phytosanitary requirements for Russian agricultural crop supplies to China. The parties reached the agreement on the basis of technical consulting dd. October 9 between representatives of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) and the AQSIQ.

In particular, the specified protocols set the requirements for exports of wheat, buckwheat, oats, sunflower seed and flaxseed from Russia. Signing of the protocols will allow starting large-scale supplies of Russian agricultural crops to China, as well as increase the current exports of wheat from already certified Russian regions (Omsk, Novosibirsk oblasts, Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Altai), and newly certified regions — Chelyabinsk and Amur oblasts.
