Ukrainian seaports increased shipments of oilseeds and by-products by 25% in February

According to the monitoring of APK-Inform, in the period of February 1-28, 2021, the export volumes of oilseeds and by-products from the Ukrainian seaports reached 978 thsd tonnes, up 24.7% compared with the previous month volumes (784 thsd tonnes, taking into account the updated figures).

The shipment volumes of sunflower seed and by-products formed the major share in the structure of supplies and totaled 843 thsd tonnes, including 424 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (down 7.6%), 401 thsd tonnes of sunflower meal (up 1.9 times) and 18 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (up 4 times).

Export of soybean and by-products totaled 135 thsd tonnes. Export of soybean totaled 132 thsd tonnes (up by 1.4 times), soybean meal - 3 thsd tonnes (down 2 times).

There was no export of rapeseed and by-products in February (8 thsd tonnes of rapeseed meal were shipped in January).

China (224.4 thsd tonnes), Egypt (144 thsd tonnes) and India (134.2 thsd tonnes) were the main destination for Ukrainian oilseeds and by-products in February.

In 2020/21 MY, the Mykolaiv Sea Commercial Port (3.4 mln tonnes) was the leader in the exports of oilseeds and by-products. The Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port (1.56 mln tonnes) and Pivdennyj Sea Port (0.97 mln tonnes) took the second and third positions respectively.
