Economist of FAO to present the development of wheat market of Central Asia in 2021/22 MY within Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent

The economist of FAO, Elena Conte will make a presentation on topic “Development of wheat market of Central Asia in 2021/22 MY: production and trade. Uzbek wheat balance” within the international conference Asia Grains&Oils Conference in Tashkent.

She will focus on the forecast of wheat production in the world and Central Asia countries in 2021, wheat trade in 2021/22 MY and wheat supply & demand balance in Uzbekistan.

Elena Conte is the economist of FAO’s international markets and trade department since 2018. She monitors supply and demand trends as well as food safety in Central Asia and Central Africa. Prior to FAO, Elena Conte used to support ACToday project aimed at the improvement of climate change resistance in vulnerable countries at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) of Columbia University.
