In September-December 2021/22 MY, Kazakhstan exported 124.1 thsd tonnes of flaxseed. 89% of the volume was shipped to TOP-5 importers, official statistics said.
Belgium (42.4 thsd tonnes), Poland (38.7 thsd tonnes), China (14.3 thsd tonnes), Germany (8.1 thsd tonnes) and Turkey (7.1 thsd tonnes) were the key importers of Kazakh flaxseed. They are traditional main markets for Kazakh oilseed and they are premium markets as well.
APK-Inform said that about 56% of flaxseed exported to Belgium were shipped on FCA basis (23.7 thsd tonnes), 32% – CFR basis (13.5 thsd tonnes), 10% – DAP basis (4.3 thsd tonnes) and 2% – FOB basis (0.9 thsd tonnes). The average prices were 572 EUR/t FCA and 804 EUR/t CFR.
Poland increased import of Kazakh flaxseed by 19% y/y. 94% of the volume was exported on FCA basis – 36.3 thsd tonnes. The average prices was 753 EUR/t.
China and Afghanistan are close market for Kazakhstan. However, they have reduced purchases sizably this season. China cut Kazakh flaxseed import by 78%, Afghanistan – by 86%. The average price for export to China was 625 USD/t FCA in September-December, for Afghanistan – 632 USD/t DAP.
