Ukraine will refrain from exporting four crops – wheat, corn, sunflower, and rapeseed, to Poland until the beginning of the new season (July 1, 2023), stated Mykola Solskyy, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on April 7, following a meeting with the newly appointed head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, Robert Telus, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

The ministers also agreed that within a week, Ukraine and Poland would develop new rules for the transit of agricultural crops.

"The situation is currently difficult for the Ukrainian farmer, but obviously for the Polish one as well. We all understand who is to blame for this, but it is up to us to decide. The possibility of transit through the territory of Poland to other EU member states and third countries is preserved, and the transit procedure will be simplified to eliminate traffic downtime and queues at checkpoints," said M. Solskyy after the meeting.

As the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine noted, while the new rules are being developed, "we recommend that exporters consider the possibility of rerouting relevant cargoes through other countries."
