Ukraine increased export of grain and oilseeds by 25% in June – agricultural ministry

In June, Ukraine exported 2.17 mln tonnes of grains, pulses, oilseeds and by-products, up by 470 thsd tonnes or 25% compared to May, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy informed in June 5.

Wheat export increased by more than 3 times to 138 thsd tonnes in June (43.5thsd tonnes in May). However, it is significantly lower than 662 thsd tonnes exported in June 2021.

Barley shipments totaled 26 thsd tonnes, up by more than 2 times m/m (11 thsd tonnes in May). Ukraine exported 73 thsd tonnes of barley in June 2021.

Corn export increased by 54 thsd tonnes m/m to 1.01 mln tonnes. Ukraine exported 1.7 mln tonnes of corn in June 2021.

Sunflower seed shipment amounted to  record 540 thsd tonnes in June, up by 60% m/m. It is almost 3 times higher compared to full season 2020/21 (189.6 thsd tonnes).

Soybean export totaled 71 thsd tonnes, up from 67 thsd tonnes shipped in May and 44 thsd tonnes in June 2021.

Foreign supplies of soybean oil increased to 18 thsd tonnes from 16 thsd tonnes in May. It is up by 5 thsd tonnes compared to June 2021.

Sunflower oil shipments totaled 267 thsd tonnes, up by 65 thsd tonnes m/m. It is 18% lower than in June 2021.

Ukraine exported 93 thsd tonnes of meal in June, down by 7 thsd tonnes m/m and significantly lower than 265 thsd tonnes shipped in June 2021.
