Due to the adverse weather conditions, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reduced the forecast of the general grain harvest in the country in the current year to 18-18.5 mln tonnes, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saparkhan Omarov on September 23.

According to the current statistics information, agrarians decreased the harvesting campaign results by 1.2 mln tonnes compared with last year. But the final figures will appear at the end of the harvesting campaign only. To date, Kazakhstan already harvested grains throughout 70% of the plan. Therefore, the forecast of the general grain production totals nearly 18-18.5 mln tonnes, S.Omarov said.

As a reminder, in June 2019 the Ministry forecasted the figures at the level of last year, when Kazakhstan harvested 20.3 mln tonnes of grains. Also, S.Omarov also added that agrarians plan to complete the harvesting campaign of grains by the end of the current month.
