Ukraine: weather impact on agricultural crops in the first ten days of December 2019




In the first ten-day period of December 2019, the warm weather conditions dominated throughout the territory of Ukraine. On some days there were observed fogs, drizzle, rains, snow, sleet, as well as snow deposits and slush build-up in some raions of southern oblasts. In the reporting period, the general depth of precipitation became significantly lower compared with the standard. In the beginning of the ten-day period, most territory of the country, with the exception of southern oblasts, faced the snow covering formation with the depth of 1-10 cm, while in Poltava and Kharkiv oblasts — 11-15 cm. In the second half of the ten-day period, the snow cover completely melted, due to the high air temperature.
