Ukraine: weather impact on agricultural crops in the first ten days of February 2020




In the first ten-day period of February 2020, Ukraine faced rather uneven weather conditions. On most days of the reporting period, the weather conditions became much warmer compared with the standard level, when the average daily air temperatures exceeded the standard by 5-13°C, and the maximum air temperatures rose to +10…15°C. At the end of the period (February 8-9), the active cold atmospheric wave moved through the territory of the country, which caused the cold snap, when in eastern, central and southern oblasts the average daily air temperature decreased to -8…-14°C, down 1-9°C compared with the standard. In the remaining part of the country, the average daily air temperature totaled 0…-5°C.
