In the second ten-day period of July, phase development of agricultural crops was faster than multiyear average or close to it in Ukraine, Ukrhydrometcenter informed.
Agro-climatic conditions were heterogeneous across Ukraine, the experts said.
In western and northern oblasts, lower temperature of air and soil as well as frequent rains were scarcely favorable for late development of winter and early spring grain crops.
At the same time, rains improved soil moisture content for late crops.
Across some territories of central oblasts, heavy rains were observed that, together with lower temperatures, improved conditions for development of late crops (corn, sunflower, soybean).
In southern oblasts, shortage or absence of rains during the reporting period were unfavorable for development of late crops.
