Poland became largest importer of Ukrainian oils and fats in January-August

In January-August 2022, Ukraine exported oils and fats at the sum of 3.652 bln USD, down by 11% compared to the same period of 2021, Deputy Director at the National scientific center “Institute of Agrarian Economics” at NAAS Nikolai Pugachev said.

Sunflower oil export amounted to 3.361 bln USD, down by 422 mln USD y/y.

For the first time in 6 years, India moved to the second place in the list of importers of Ukrainian sunflower oil with the share at 11.7%. Poland became the main destination for Ukrainian sunflower oil with the share at 14.5%.

Smaller volumes were shipped to Turkey (9.8%), the Netherlands (8.1%), Italy (5.4%), Bulgaria (4.9%), Spain (4.7%), Romania (4.5%).

The common share of these countries totaled 64%.

On October 20 in Warsaw, the conference Fat-and-Oil Industry – 2022 will take place. The experts will analyze the trends of Ukrainian and global oilseed market and share their forecasts for further development.
