Kazakhstan increasing export of oilseeds, oils to China

According to Oil World, Kazakhstan is increasing export of oilseeds and oils to China. In August, Kazakhstan shipped almost 10 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil to China (+1 thsd tonnes m/m), while there was no export in August 2021.

Moreover, Kazakhstan exported 19.3 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed to China (20.2 thsd tonnes in July) compared to only 2.1 thsd tonnes in August 2021. Shipments of flaxseed oil amounted to 24.4 thsd tonnes compared to 20.5 thsd tonnes in July and 1.2 thsd tonnes in August 2021.

In January-August 2022, Kazakhstan exported 47.5 thsd tonnes of sunflower oil (up 8 times y/y), 106 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed (up 2.7 times y/y), 20.9 thsd tonnes of rapeseed oil (up 5.2 times y/y), 98.1 thsd tonnes of flaxseed (up 2.1 times y/y).

The experts expect that Chinese market will remain the key destination for Kazakhstan.
