According to the updated forecasts of analysts of APK-Inform Agency, in 2013/14 MY Ukraine may export 30.9 mln tonnes of grains, which will become the absolute record, and allow to the country to enter the TOP-3 of largest world exporters of the reporting products.

In the first half of the season (July-December) Ukraine showed sufficiently high rates of grain exports - nearly 18 mln tonnes, or over 58% of the forecasted export potential. At the same time, in November there was observed the absolute monthly record in terms of export sales, which totaled 4.8 mln tonnes of dry bulk agricultural cargoes, including 4.2 mln tonnes of grain cargoes. These indices show the increase of the infrastructure capacity of the grain market in the country, which in terms of keeping the reached monthly rates of grain shipments, allows exporting more than 55 mln tonnes of bulk cargoes.

In addition to high rates of Ukrainian grain exports, there are also noted changes in the geography of its foreign supplies. In particular, Ukraine significantly increased volumes of grain shipments to Asian countries. So, in the period of July-November of 2013 Ukraine supplied 28% of the general exported volumes of grains to the countries of Eastern, South and Southeast Asia, while during the same period in 2012 the index totaled 2% only.

According to analysts of the Agency, opening of the markets in Asia will determine the further development of Ukrainian grain export trading, and attract additional investments to development of the agricultural sector.
