In 2013/14 MY the general grain exports from Ukraine may reach the level of 33 mln tonnes, declared Nikolai Prisyazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on January 13.

Since the grain harvest in 2013 in registered weight totaled nearly 63 mln tonnes, the export potential also raised. According to the current estimations, until July 1, 2014, Ukraine will be able to supply nearly 33 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets. And to date Ukraine already exported more than 20 mln tonnes of grains, he said.

According N.Prisyazhnyuk, Ukrainian grains still remain competitive and required on foreign markets. Therefore, the growth of grain exports accelerated, to meet the high foreign demand, and relieve the domestic market.

As a reminder, in November and December 2013, the monthly export volumes grew to more than 4.6 mln tonnes. It became the record export rates in the history of Ukraine, which previously the domestic logistics failed to reach. Therefore, last year the Government began a comprehensive work on the logistics optimization to improve the capacity of grain transportation, summed up the Minister.
