The removal of the duties on the Ukrainian products exporting to the European Union is profitable for the processing enterprises, declared the President of the Ukrainian Grain Association Vladimir Klimenko on March 25, 2014.
The expert stated the removal of the export duties is the opportunity for Ukraine to increase grain shipments to the EU. Thus the current duty for corn imports is 90 USD/tonne and if the cancellation is approved it will be zero which is much better. The total supplies will face an increase, but it will be insignificant.
According to V.Klimenko, the export duties cancellation will be followed by cattle-breeding products supplies increase.
V.Klimenko has also mentioned the EU market is interesting for the Ukrainian pork producers. But a lot of work to be done in this direction,
Rodion Rybchinskiy, the Head of Business Projects Division of APK-Inform Agency added that the removal of the duties to open the EU market for the domestic flour millers.
