Turkey to increase sunflower oil imports by 100 thsd tonnes in 2013/14 MY

According to leading world analysts, Turkey will considerably increase the imports of sunflower oil in 2013/14 MY.

Oil World forecasts the imports of sunflower oil to Turkey in the current season at 0.71 mln tonnes against 0.66 mln tonnes last year.

USDA sees the sunflower oil imports to Turkey even at higher level – 0.75 mln tonnes that exceeds the last season result by almost 100 thsd tonnes.

Growing imports of sunflower oil to Turkey is caused by permanent increase of its consumption in the country which can exceed 1 mln tonnes in 2013/14 MY.

As to the current price situation on Turkish market, as of April, 11 offer prices for sunflower oil made up 890-895 UDS/t CIF, bids prices totaled 870-875 UDS/t CIF.
